SHOPS: LOVE FROM CYPRUS

Recently The Lipstick Girl has been in contact with the lovely brand Love From Cyprus after discovering them on Twitter

As a supporter of emerging designers and brands, it is an honour to be promoting this local designer shop encouraging beautiful designs, fashion and crafts.

LoveFromCyprus.com is a curated online store founded by graphic designer and blogger, Anastasia Gerali. The shop aims to promote authentic Cypriot products, all locally crafted by Cypriot designers and craftsmen. In 2013, Anastasia launched her own leather sandal collection – LFCLFC sandals are all handmade by local craftsmen in genuine leather. A rubber heel provides stability to the leather sole. Classical Greek sandal styles with a modern twist showcase Cypriot craft and quality. Each pair is handmade by local craftsmen, in natural soft leather, which ages beautifully with time and wear. All the styles are named after villages and towns of the Mediterranean island, with the occasional Greek godly exception, after all, Cyprus is the island of love – the birthplace of goddess Aphrodite.

LFC have been very generous, giving you a 10% discount on all LFC leather sandals! And the sandals already have a free shipping promotion!

Just enter the 10% discount code Lipstick10 when you purchase any LFC sandals. LFC are also providing free shipping worldwide on ALL orders over 100 Euros. For this, enter Free100 when you finalise your purchases.

The Lipstick Girl also loves LFC's plastic shopper Che-Che + Cee-Cee bags + clutches designed by Daniella Georgiou, as well as Anna Koumoushi's Sun rings + earrings, and By Air Mail canvas bag + travel pouch, to match any summer outfit.

COLLECTIONS: RESORT 2014

As Sydney experiences heavy rain and wind, one imagines sun-baking and swimming in cool crystal blue water on the other side of the world. With summer in the northern hemisphere, major designers have recently released their Resort collections for 2014. And haven't there been some amazing stunners (it has been very challenging to decide my favourites)! So during the paradise-like climate weather I experience at the present, these collections have forced me to dream and escape to a sunshine-filled world, whether it be on the beautiful streets of Paris and Venice visiting art galleries and fashion shows, or relaxing on the beaches of tropical Hawaii, the European Mediterranean coast of Barcelona, the Cinque Terre, Taormina, or Cannes...
So wherever you may be reading this, let these designs take you away to another world.

The Lipstick Girl gives full marks to No. 21 for their RESORT 2014 COLLECTION being particularly fabulous and chic. The Italian Milan-based brand has achieved girly, trendy and smart pieces + ensembles that would do more than satisfy my wardrobe (perfect for any sunny vacation), radiating with well-tailored cuts + materials, summer prints, cute dresses, thin leather coats, + unique bag accessories + sandals.

Other intriguing collections include Maison Martin Margiela (with clean, minimalist lines + divine coats)Dion LeeBalenciagaAlexander Wang (consisting of his graphic ingenious twists with leather)ValentinoMoschinoChloé, Karen Walker (spot on with her collection expanding to fun yet mature and sophisticated clothing featuring her characteristic sunglasses + quirky fabrics), Helmut LangMarc by Marc JacobsLanvin, and Kenzo (full of breath-taking sculpting of different materials with funky colours, wavy lines, bandeau tops + oversized bomber jackets pleasing to the eye).

STREET STYLE: WINTER

Fog forms on your bedroom window, the air is crisp and chilly. You know winter has arrived when it's too cold to get out of bed with several doonas and blankets. But don't be down because anyone can dress with as much style in winter, despite the rain. Take out your fur coats and jackets (really show them off and experiment with bright-coloured ones too), overcoats, trench coats, big knits, jumpers, turtle neck tops, blazers, skinny jeans, leather jackets + skirts + pants, and get ready for winter! Use nude, light pink or dark purple/maroon lipstick shades with a touch of pinky blush and thick darkened brows + lashes. Accessorise with a black bow tied under a white blouse collar, leather boots, fur + woollen scarves, stockings, knee-high socks, thick floppy felt hats, berets, thick gold + silver chains, and pearls, with black or white totes, bowler and shopper bags.

The Lipstick Girl is particularly in love with fur coats in leopard prints + thick oversized coats:

Here are some inspiring images for some chilly-dressing. Tell me about your look this winter xx

JEWELLERY: CHAINED UP!

As most up-to-date-with-fashion people have been recently, The Lipstick Girl is obsessed with chain accessories, particularly jewellery including chunky necklaces + bracelets. I suggest buying classic bright gold or silver ones that are heavy and of good quality which will last for a longer time and won't fade colour easily, to go for a vintage Chanel look. The Lipstick Girl is absolutely loving her Forever New gold chain necklace + bracelet, and vintage silver + gold chains, pairing it with the perfect bright lipstick hue (hot pink or coral works best!). Enjoy the pics below (all photographs belong to TLG except Chanel + tumblr ones)! xx

STYLE INSPIRATION: B + W

If there are any readers out there, here is some inspiration for your perspiration, channelling Black + White vibes. This style inspiration post became black + white, because for some weird reason, when choosing images, I involuntarily picked all black + white ones! Here are some looks, beautiful ladies and places that The Lipstick Girl has always admired.

I would really appreciate your comments on what you think about this blog (or this post/other posts, what you would like to see, suggestions, questions, etc.) and spread the word about it xx

Have a great day lovelies,

The Lipstick Girl

STREET STYLE: AUTUMN

The leaves are fading to red-orange hues and the winter chill is approaching. Monochrome, simplistic and minimalist outfits suitable for the cooler temperatures come to mind when experiencing the season. Incorporate blazers, felt hats, and black heels or brogues into your styling. Try going for a natural look with a touch of colour, perhaps bright pink, coral or peach lipstick, paired with bold accessories including clutches, handbags, or chunky watches and bracelets. Start getting those jumpers and trench coats out of your closet too. The Lipstick Girl loves Alexa Chung's mix-matching of pieces in her outfit ensembles.

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHT: MBFWA 2013

From clean lines of Camilla and Marc, to vibrant galactic-like costumes of Romance Was Born, and to edgy and elegant ensembles of Gabriel Lee, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2013 at Carriageworks, Sydney, was definitely this week's highlight. With front row celebrities, upcoming local and international designers, top models, and unique street style, it was an excitement for all. There was a great variety of colour, shape and line, which created a magnificent atmosphere and presented an insightful perspective of the fashion world prevalent in Australia. Despite not attending the amazing fashion event, I was still able to absorb the action-packed excitement of shows through the MBFWA website and other blogs.

The Lipstick Girl loves... the stunning lip colour used by Lisa Ho. Check it out and have a try yourself (Hair Romance)!
